As the global digital economy accelerates, Kazakhstan is prioritizing information infrastructure upgrades in its major cities—a development now supported by a new international air cargo link from China.
The inaugural flight of YTO Airlines' Tianjin-Astana freight route recently departed with 21 tons of electronics, marking the carrier's first international operation. The service will soon expand to include Almaty-bound shipments, strengthening trade connectivity between China and Kazakhstan.
This initiative aligns with China's Belt and Road strategy while advancing YTO's global expansion. Tianjin Airport, serving as the launchpad, aims to establish itself as an international logistics hub for Central Asian trade corridors.
Tianjin Airport has significantly grown its cargo capabilities in recent years, now serving 121 destinations—including 28 international and regional cities—through partnerships with 11 all-cargo carriers. The facility has actively expanded its network by introducing scheduled freight services and charter operations, laying groundwork for its ambition to become China's premier air logistics center.
