
Sellers using Coupang's dropshipping service can now recover losses from certain types of returns through the platform's compensation program. When customers return low-value items (under ₩100,000) that aren't physically recovered, sellers may qualify for reimbursement.
Eligibility Requirements
The compensation applies when:
- Products were shipped via Coupang's dropshipping service
- Manual return address entry fails or automatic return processing fails
- The refund amount is below ₩100,000
- The item wasn't physically returned (marked as "disposed")
Application Process
Sellers must submit compensation requests within 14 business days from the return approval date. The application requires:
- Selecting "Return or Exchange" as the request type
- Choosing "Review Request" as the category
- Specifying "Dropshipping Product" as the item type
Automatic Return System Details
Coupang's automatic return system only works with six designated logistics providers:
- Lotte Logistics
- Lawson Logistics
- Korea Post
- Hanjin Logistics
- CJ Korea Express
- Il Yang Logistics
To enable automatic returns, sellers must register a valid Korean return address and establish contract codes with these carriers. However, automatic return failures may still occur, requiring manual compensation claims.
Processing Timeline
Compensation requests typically receive a response within five business days. Sellers should monitor their application status during this period.
