In the increasingly competitive global logistics landscape, ensuring rapid and efficient cargo delivery has become paramount. Nanchang Changbei International Airport recently welcomed its first all-cargo charter flights of the year, marking a significant boost for import-export trade with streamlined customs clearance.
The direct flight to Belgium carried 169 metric tons of cargo , including 106 tons of imports valued at $6.256 million and 63 tons of exports worth $500,000. This milestone continues the airport's growing cargo operations since launching dedicated freight services in December 2018.
Nanchang Customs has now supervised three all-cargo charters handling 1,725 metric tons of combined imports and exports. The shipments have included diverse commodities ranging from apparel and small equipment to 3C electronic products.
To support Jiangxi Province's open economic development, Nanchang Customs has implemented 24/7 service operations and optimized clearance procedures. These dedicated freighters overcome limitations of traditional belly cargo systems—which face capacity constraints and multiple transfer points—by establishing direct multinational routes that significantly improve customs efficiency.
The airport's international cargo expansion provides dual benefits for traders: reducing logistical costs while enhancing Nanchang's competitiveness in global trade. Authorities plan continued innovation in cargo operations, aiming to secure Changbei Airport's position as a key node in international supply chains and elevate Jiangxi's role in the global economy.
