A Boeing 747 cargo aircraft touched down at Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport yesterday, marking the official launch of the Zhengzhou-Moscow-Frankfurt freight route. This new air corridor establishes a vital "golden bridge" between China's central Henan province and European markets while significantly boosting international logistics development in the region.
The newly inaugurated route represents the fourth cargo hub in China for the international freight carrier and their first major operation in central China. During the maiden flight, the airport handled 70 metric tons of inbound cargo while exporting 110 metric tons of goods to European destinations.
Currently operating twice weekly , the airline plans to expand service to four weekly flights by year's end, with ambitions to achieve daily operations before next year's Lunar New Year. This strategic expansion promises to dramatically improve cargo transport efficiency for central China's manufacturing and export sectors.
Industry analysts predict the new route will inject fresh vitality into regional economic development, providing businesses with faster access to European markets while strengthening Zhengzhou's position as a logistics hub for China's central region. The increased air freight capacity comes as global supply chains continue adapting to post-pandemic trade patterns.
