International railway freight transportation plays a significant role in promoting Eurasian trade, supporting the economies of Hong Kong and Macau, ensuring domestic goods circulation, and connecting the continental bridge. Through efficient and safe transportation methods, it facilitates trade between China and the world, providing strong impetus for economic development.
On August 21, the Lanzhou Railway Bureau successfully launched its first China-Europe international freight train from Lanzhou to Hamburg, Germany, reducing transport time by 15 days compared to sea freight. The train covers a distance of 8027 kilometers and operates in about 15 days with 42 cars. This project leverages the geographical advantages of the Lanzhou railway hub, promoting the development of international logistics brands. Starting from August 29, it plans to operate regularly on a weekly basis to boost regional economic development.
As of December 4, the Zhengzhou-Europe International Railway has operated 150 trains this year, exceeding the annual target. The total cargo value reached $693 million, covering economic circles such as the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, and radiating to 20 countries in Europe and Central Asia. Future goals will gradually increase, continuing to play an important role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
