Zambia Boosts Air Cargo Efficiency with Digital Customs Upgrade
With support from the WCO and UK HMRC, the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has successfully revamped air cargo clearance processes by implementing the WCO Immediate Release Guidelines and the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement. By introducing electronic manifests and a digital clearance system, Zambia has significantly improved logistics efficiency at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. The country plans to achieve full digital customs clearance by 2023, aiming to reduce trade costs and enhance national trade competitiveness.
