
A prominent Beijing-based law firm is expanding its international practice with new hires for its investment and mergers & acquisitions division, offering legal professionals an opportunity to work on high-value cross-border transactions.
Position Responsibilities
The role involves substantive work in overseas investment, M&A, and banking finance matters, including:
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising critical legal documents such as investment agreements, loan documentation, and legal opinions under partner supervision
- Participating in deal negotiations to provide expert support and secure optimal terms
- Mentoring junior associates and legal interns
- Potential international travel, including to developing regions, for project requirements
- Handling additional professional assignments independently
Candidate Requirements
Qualified applicants should possess:
- Advanced law degree from a prestigious domestic or international institution, with preference given to candidates with overseas education
- Legal qualification certification, with additional preference for those licensed to practice in China, New York, or other jurisdictions
- 3-5 years of experience at mid-to-large sized firms, with demonstrated expertise in cross-border investments, M&A, and financing transactions
- Industry experience in renewable energy, mining, or manufacturing sectors considered advantageous
- Professional-level English fluency, with additional language skills (particularly French) viewed favorably
- Strong legal research capabilities, analytical reasoning, professional ethics, and stress management skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
