As the New Year holidays approach, Uzbekistan has launched an extensive medical coverage initiative to ensure citizens have access to timely healthcare services during the festive period.
The Ministry of Health has established a dedicated command center to coordinate medical resources nationwide. From December 31, 2025, through January 4, 2026, hospitals across all cities and districts will operate with enhanced staffing levels. This includes specialized medical centers, university-affiliated clinics, and 39 regional trauma and acute cardiovascular disease treatment facilities.
Round-the-Clock Emergency Services
More than 20,000 medical professionals will remain on duty during the holiday period, with hospitals increasing bed capacity and medication stockpiles to handle potential surges in patient numbers.
The national emergency medical research center, along with its 13 branches and nearly 200 emergency stations, will maintain 24-hour operations. The "103" emergency hotline will remain fully operational throughout the holidays.
Uzbekistan's emergency response network now covers the entire country, comprising 14 regional centers, 167 emergency stations, 63 substations, and 1,436 emergency support points. The system is supported by over 2,860 standby emergency teams, ensuring prompt professional care regardless of location.
Specialized Care for Vulnerable Groups
Special provisions have been made for expectant mothers and children. During the holiday season, all 231 maternal healthcare facilities and 233 pediatric medical institutions will remain open to ensure continuous care for these vulnerable groups.
For medical inquiries, citizens can access professional consultation services by dialing the short code 1003 at any time.
The Ministry of Health expressed gratitude to healthcare workers who will be on duty during the holidays and encouraged all citizens to prioritize their health to ensure a safe and peaceful New Year celebration.
