Amazon has launched an exclusive cashback initiative for eligible sellers participating in its Central European Program (CEP). Qualified merchants could receive up to €2,000 in rebates by meeting specific VAT compliance requirements.
€2,000 Cashback: Key Participation Requirements
The promotional offer provides sellers with the opportunity to earn:
- €1,000 for successfully registering and verifying a Polish VAT number
- €1,000 for successfully registering and verifying a Czech VAT number
To qualify for the full €2,000 rebate, sellers must meet four essential conditions:
- Invitation Requirement: Participation is strictly by invitation. Only sellers who received official communication from Amazon's account management team regarding the "2023 CEP Subsidy Program" are eligible.
- Timely Registration: Valid Polish and/or Czech VAT numbers must be uploaded and verified through Seller Central before December 31, 2023.
- CEP Activation: Participants must enable the Central European Program in their account settings (Amazon Logistics Settings > Cross-Border Logistics Settings > "Store inventory in Amazon fulfillment centers in Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic").
- Continuous FBA Usage: Sellers must maintain active FBA sales and CEP participation throughout the promotional period (June 1 - December 31, 2023), authorizing Amazon to distribute inventory across German, Polish, and Czech fulfillment centers.
Important Program Details
The cashback offer carries several critical restrictions:
- The promotion cannot be transferred to other seller accounts
- Sellers who registered Polish/Czech VAT numbers or activated CEP prior to receiving the invitation are ineligible
- Rebates will be credited to seller accounts as refunds during Q1 2024
Understanding the Central European Program
Amazon's CEP initiative extends the company's fulfillment network to Poland and the Czech Republic, offering participants several operational advantages:
- Faster delivery times to Central European customers
- Reduced cross-border logistics costs
- Automated inventory distribution across three countries without additional management requirements
- No supplementary €0.26 fulfillment fees
VAT Compliance Considerations
CEP enrollment triggers mandatory VAT registration obligations in Poland and the Czech Republic. Sellers should note that failure to comply with these requirements may result in restrictions on their German marketplace sales privileges.
The program represents a strategic opportunity for Amazon merchants to expand their Central European presence while benefiting from enhanced logistics capabilities and potential cost savings.
