Amazon Program Protects Sellers from Account Suspensions

Amazon has launched the Account Health Assurance (AHA) program to help sellers with good account health avoid account deactivation due to minor issues. By joining the AHA program, sellers who cooperate with Amazon to resolve issues within 72 hours can prevent account suspension. The program has already been implemented in the US and Canadian marketplaces and will be expanded to more marketplaces in the future. Sellers need to meet certain criteria, including an Account Health Rating, emergency contact information, and eligibility for priority shipping, to join the program.
Amazon Program Protects Sellers from Account Suspensions

For Amazon sellers, the sudden risk of account suspension can be a nightmare scenario. However, a new program introduced by the e-commerce giant aims to alleviate these concerns. On November 16, 2022, Amazon officially launched the Account Health Assurance (AHA) program, designed to provide sellers with more flexible solutions for account issues while avoiding immediate suspensions.

Account Health Assurance: A "Safety Valve" for Seller Accounts

The AHA program is an exclusive benefit for professional sellers who consistently maintain high Account Health Ratings. Currently available in the U.S. and Canada marketplaces, the program is expected to expand to other regions in the coming months.

Once enrolled in AHA, sellers who actively cooperate with Amazon to resolve account issues within 72 hours will avoid account deactivation. Eligible sellers are automatically enrolled at no cost and receive email notification from Amazon.

This represents a significant shift from Amazon's previous approach of immediate suspensions, offering sellers more opportunities to address and resolve issues. The AHA program serves as an important safeguard for seller account security.

How to Qualify for the Account Health Assurance Program

Amazon automatically evaluates sellers for AHA eligibility. Qualified accounts are enrolled automatically with email notification. There is no charge for participation.

Sellers can check their eligibility by logging into Seller Central, navigating to "Performance" > "Account Health," and reviewing the qualification requirements.

AHA Program Eligibility Requirements

Amazon has established specific criteria for AHA participation:

  • Valid emergency contact information: Sellers must provide accurate, functional phone numbers for immediate communication.
  • Active issue resolution: Sellers must respond to Amazon notifications within 72 hours and cooperate fully to resolve problems.
  • Strong Account Health Rating: Accounts must maintain a rating of 250 or higher, with fewer than 10 days below this threshold in the past 90 days.
  • Premium shipping capability: Sellers must qualify for Premium Shipping options, requiring:
    • 90+ days of marketplace presence
    • 99% valid tracking rate
    • 97% on-time delivery rate
    • Below 0.5% cancellation rate

The Value of AHA for Amazon Sellers

The Account Health Assurance program offers significant benefits:

  • Reduced suspension risk: Provides a safety net against immediate account deactivation.
  • Improved resolution efficiency: Encourages collaborative problem-solving between Amazon and sellers.
  • Promotes compliance: Incentivizes sellers to maintain high operational standards.
  • Strengthens seller confidence: Demonstrates Amazon's commitment to supporting legitimate businesses.

The AHA program represents a positive development for Amazon's third-party marketplace. Eligible sellers should take advantage of this protection to safeguard their e-commerce operations.
