Preparing Your Bank Account
Before initiating any transactions, ensure your bank card supports international wire transfers. While most major banks offer this service through mobile banking applications, it's advisable to confirm this functionality with your bank's customer service. Additionally, maintain sufficient RMB balance in your account for currency conversion purposes.
Currency Conversion and Transfer Process (Using China Construction Bank as Example)
The following steps outline the process through CCB's mobile banking application, though procedures remain largely similar across most banking institutions:
- Access the transfer interface: Open your bank's mobile application and navigate to the "Transfer" section.
- Select international transfer: Choose the "International Remittance" or "Cross-Border Transfer" option within the transfer menu.
- Initiate foreign currency transfer: From the international transfer page, select "Foreign Currency Transfer."
- Currency conversion: If your account features a foreign exchange sub-account, you may directly convert RMB to USD (or other Coupang-accepted currencies). Otherwise, follow bank prompts to establish this sub-account before proceeding with conversion at current exchange rates.
- Enter recipient details: This critical step requires accurate input of Coupang's banking information, including bank name, account number, and SWIFT code. These details become available after submitting a recharge request through Coupang's platform.
- Provide sender information: Input your personal details, including full name and residential address.
- Submit transfer request: After verifying all entered information, finalize the transaction.
Submitting Bank Documentation and Updating Advertising Credits
Following successful fund transfer, merchants must submit relevant banking documents through Coupang's advertising interface under [Ads] → [Invoices]. This documentation serves as payment verification. Upon Coupang's confirmation, the advertising credit balance will reflect the deposited amount.
Important Considerations
- Transaction fees vary between financial institutions—confirm applicable charges beforehand.
- Include your Coupang store name or ID in the payment reference field for identification purposes.
- Contact your banking institution or Coupang support for any transaction-related inquiries.
