Wildberries Expands Free Delivery to Attract Russian Shoppers

Imagine escaping the summer heat without stepping outside—simply tapping your phone to have desired products delivered free to your doorstep. This isn't a distant dream but a reality being implemented by Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries through its latest strategic initiative.

The company recently launched a summer promotion offering free home delivery for new users and customers who haven't used delivery services for over three months. Eligible shoppers can now enjoy the convenience of having packages transported from Wildberries pickup points (PVZ) directly to their homes at no cost.

The campaign's objectives are clear: attract new customers while enhancing service quality for existing users. Nikolay Vikultsev, Head of Wildberries Courier, explained that free home delivery serves as an effective marketing tool to demonstrate service advantages and gather customer feedback. The initiative aims to help first-time users experience Wildberries' convenience across 420+ Russian cities.

How the Free Delivery Service Works

Available nationwide for all new Wildberries customers, users simply need to place orders via the mobile app or website, select their nearest PVZ, and opt for home delivery once packages arrive. This streamlined process significantly improves shopping convenience.

Ongoing Logistics Innovations

Wildberries continues advancing its logistics capabilities. Previous collaborations with Moscow Post introduced 24-hour free delivery to parcel lockers, with average warehouse-to-locker transit times of 16 hours—including evening orders. The company also facilitates in-person returns at postal offices.

A specialized "Large Items Delivery" section now handles oversized products like furniture and appliances across 360+ locations. In the Minsk region, the "Express Delivery" service guarantees two-hour home delivery from pickup points.

Enhancing User Experience and Market Position

These service upgrades reflect Wildberries' commitment to improving shopping experiences through convenient, efficient logistics. The free delivery promotion serves dual purposes: attracting new users while strengthening customer retention in Russia's competitive e-commerce market.

The strategy also provides valuable user data for service optimization. By analyzing customer behavior and feedback, Wildberries maintains its user-centric approach—a key factor in sustaining market leadership. This free delivery initiative represents a strategic move to consolidate market position while differentiating from competitors through superior logistics solutions.
