Kefalonia Airport, located on the Greek island of Kefalonia, serves as an international civil airport that has been operational since 1971. Managed by the Kefalonia Municipal Government, the airport stands at an elevation of 18 meters (59 feet) above sea level.
The facility features a single 2,436-meter-long and 45-meter-wide asphalt runway (designated 14/32), completed in 1980 along with its terminal building and supporting infrastructure. Over the decades, the airport has developed into a vital transportation hub for the Ionian Islands region.
Several major airlines currently operate scheduled domestic and international flights from Kefalonia Airport, including Austrian Airlines, TUI Airways (formerly Thomson Airways), easyJet, and Aegean Airlines. Through code-sharing agreements, the airport also handles flights operated by partner carriers such as airberlin (now defunct), Etihad Airways, and Iberia.
