Historical Development and Infrastructure
Originally constructed as a military airfield in 1972, Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport transitioned to civilian use and officially opened in 1982. Spanning 284.46 hectares, the airport meets the standards of an E-Class I international airport with its modern facilities.
By 2014, the airport had achieved an annual passenger throughput of 13.55 million, ranking 20th nationwide and maintaining its position as the busiest airport in Northeast China for 16 consecutive years.
